Patrick,

Thank you for building and maintaining the LOHS '59 website. This is allowing us to connect all through this year and will make our getting together even more meaningful. GREAT JOB. THANKS AGAIN.

Pat,

Agreed, start of a good www site, now just to get some posters posting!

Out of the house shortly, got two friends passing through. One's coming in from Juba, Southern Sudan, for a couple weeks R&R, the other same but from R&R in Phnom Penh and enroute back to Kazakhstan where he's working.

Bangkok is an interesting crossroads.

Yo, Pat:

Hey man, great job on the web page. Man have you changed in appearance!! Sure glad that I haven't. LOL

Last time I saw you was down in California at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and you were working there as some sort of "over-seer" or a security guard or some kinda thing like that. Had to have been in the early 80s. You got a memory of that?? Didn't you work for the City of Lake Oswego for a little while, as well???

Glad to see that all is going smooth with you and that life has been good for you as well.

Can't promise that I'll see you at the Reunion but we'll be sure to give it a shot.

Cheers and best regards:

Gary

Hey! Gary,

It's good to hear from you! Yes, I was Lake Oswego's Planning Director from 1973 to 1983 and I saw you often at the Fire Station behind City Hall.

It was 1984 when we met at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I had just completed a one-year Japanese language course at the Defense Language Institute, had a job application pending with the U.S. Customs Service and was temporarily working in a combination docent/EMT/security position at the aquarium while I waited for a response.

I got the job with U.S. Customs and worked there for 18 years, through the change from the Customs Service to the Department of Homeland Security, finally retiring in 2003. It was a great job and hard to leave but Gloria and I are thoroughly enjoying our retirement here in central Mexico. It's a fiesta every weekend!

We certainly hope to see you and Terrie at the 50th Reunion.

Kindest regards,

Patrick

Pat - This site has been such a delight! Thanks so much for all of your hard work! I have tried to work on websites and it just doesn't fit into my brain set up - so I really appreciate how wonderful this one is! "Reason Number 40" is great. And it has been so good hearing from old friends......So looking forward to next summer.........

Fabulous website, Patrick. Truly, it's one of the best I've seen. User friendly, easy to follow, easy to use, and not too "busy," as so many web sites are. I know how much time it takes to create a website, and how endless the time-consuming maintaining a website is. Thanks so much for donating your time to this project and for making it so easy for old classmates to re-connect. Looking at the profiles and seeing those familiar faces after all these years is so satisfying and brings back so many memories. I didn't graduate from LOHS, but it has always remained my favorite of the many schools I attended.

Thanks for your kind words, Debbie! Yes, there's work involved but it's really rewarding. It's so great to be back in touch again and hear what our classmates have been doing with their lives these past 50 years.

Who remembers the big football game at Wy'east? About November 11th of our 7th or 8th grade year? LOHS took 13 buses and at one point we all stood and screamed and shouted and won the game! There were snowflakes as we drove home. I have never forgotten this day. It was very exciting! Any memories of this??????

Speaking of snowflakes -- those of you in the Pacific Northwest have been seeing a bunch of them lately! It might be nice to see a White Christmas after all these years but I'm really just as happy down here south of the border with daily highs in the mid-70s.

Wow I am really kicking myself for not having logged onto this site much sooner. Thanks Pat for giving us the venue to connect again. My husband and I are wintering in Yuma AZ so I can really appreciate your loving the 70 degree weather South of the Border. I had to fly back to Portland in January due to an eye problem so I was able to witness several days of snow which was lovely but helped me to really appreciate Yuma. Keep in touch, Laurie

Mary Helens inquiry about a Wy'East game when we were really really young did stir a memory. My parents took my brother and I up there for the game -- and the whole weekend with their friends. We stayed at the Hounsells fruit ranch and I got to drive a caterpiller tractor a bit. That's the only time I've ever gotten to do that in my life.

I WOULD LIKE TO TELL EVERYONE THAT I HAVE HAD A RECENT FOOT SURGERY WHICH LEFT ME WITH A "WIERD" "GURRGLY" VOICE!! DON'T ASK ME BECAUSE DON WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO ANSWER, BUT I DON'T SOUND NORMAL!! SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TUBE DOWN THE THROAT FOR "sleepling" (can't spell annesthetic) ?

I'm looking forward to next weekend and hope to try and talk to as many of you who have patience with me!!

Just wanted to say thank you -- so much -- to the reunion committee for making the 50th the best reunion, ever. I was peripherally involved, because I did the memory book, and I know how many hours, days, weeks, and months they put into the planning. Lorelei deserves a terrific amount of credit for being my "wing gal" on the memory book; she did so much proofreading and editing, as well as re-writing. We recruited Patrick and he, too, edited the entire book and contributed valuable suggestions and spotted errors. MaryHelen designed the cover and first four pages. Thanks to all of you. Also wanted to say how much it means to a "girl" with no real roots anywhere to still be included in the school that meant the most to me. Even though I didn't graduate with all of you, you all still make me feel I was part of the class -- 53 years, for me, later. Thank you! Last, I shared with my sister Cinda how many of you asked about (and enthused about) her, and she doesn't quite believe me, but it made her feel great to know she's still remembered.

Thanks to all who made the reunion such a wonderful event. It was great. I just wish my brain was younger and I could remember names from one day to the next, but then my children would tell you I've always been that way. It was great seeing all of you again. I wish I could have talked more with everyone, but just being there and seeing the new school and having the experience was fantastic. Sharon Rice, thank you for the kind comments and especially the ride back to the armory. And all of you who worked on the memory book, that was a labor of love and a great effort. I've read every page. Thank you so much. Write when you have time.

Love to all

Dear Patrick......

I have loved seeing the pictures of all of the events - thanks for adding them on - on those still to come. BUT how did I download the class picture?

Looking forward to a simple answer to a question that is SO confusing to me!

Hi! Jan,

That's a good question, and I susupect that you're not alone in your wish for a simple answer. So, I'm responding in this public forum to let everyone see the answer.

First, "right-click" on the photo that you want to download and click on "Save Picture As...". Then, in the window that opens, specify the folder in which you want to save it, give it a name, and click on "Save" That's it! The photo will appear in the folder that you specified and you can print or edit it from there.

Enjoy!

Patrick

Janica thank you so much for asking Pat that question about the LOHS picture printing and thank you Pat for your easy answer.

Patrick

This is a great service to the Class....nice job. I wish other classes during my nine years at LOHS did the same. It is most interesting to me learing what the students I knew have done and are doing now.

I am not filling out the survey because it is really the job and privilige of the members of the Class to do so. BUT, I certainly want to know about any future gatherings as long as I am around. I still feel bad for having missed your 50th!

Cheers,

Dick Pizzo
